John Peck, ASA, founder and owner of Porter and Peck Appraisers began his appraising career after graduating from The Ohio State University. His first appraisal position was with the Federal Housing Administration. After five years of working with FHA, John served as the first Director of Education for the Ohio Association of Realtors. Later, he opened his own real estate and appraisal business.

Respected in his field, he served six years on the Ohio Real Estate Appraiser Board, was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Appraisers, and was awarded a life membership for his contributions to the real estate appraisal profession. He served seven terms as President of the Columbus Chapter of The American Society of Appraisers (ASA).  He strongly believes that all appraisers should be licensed to protect the consumer. The license guarantees the consumer that the appraiser has at least completed minimum requirements.

Mr. Peck has trained many appraisers and continues to do so. His staff is licensed and each appraisal is reviewed by him before it is provided to the lender or consumer.
